A TEAM of officers and staff from Staffordshire Police are taking on a challenge for charity.
They will participate in the Light the Lakes event in aid of Care of Police Survivors (COPS).
The charity provides support for loved ones of those lost in service.
On Friday (20th June) the team, including Staffordshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Paul Talbot, will walk up Mardale Ill Bell in the Lake District to camp out and then light their flares at around 3am the following day.
Paul said:
“We are all very much looking forward to supporting COPS and the wider policing family by taking part in this fantastic event, which has grown from strength to strength since it first started back in 2012.
“I wouldn’t say that we’re all at the peak of fitness but nevertheless we’ll try our very best to do a good job and raise plenty of money for an extremely worthy cause that’s close to our hearts.”
