SUMMER will be in full swing when Lichfield Cathedral takes a walk on the wild side.

The city centre site will introduce a wildlife theme as its popular beach returns from 26th July to 31st August.

Along with a Noah’s Ark play area taking pride of place at the centre of the attraction, the cathedral will also host the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition and run family activities with an animal theme.

The Rt Revd Jan McFarlane, Dean of Lichfield said:

“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors from all over the region and beyond to Lichfield Cathedral this summer.

“The beach is hugely popular, giving us all an opportunity to relax in deckchairs and build sandcastles before visiting the stunning wildlife photography in the cathedral.

“Our hope and prayer is that all who visit will find space to pause and rest, and to reflect on the joy and beauty of God’s creation.”
