Officers are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Lichfield in the early hours of yesterday morning, Sunday 5 February.
A 17-year-old male, from Lichfield, was walking home along Birmingham Road when he was confronted by a group of males between the Friary and Bowling Green islands at around 1am.
The group threw snowballs at him and then one of the offenders punched him in the face. His iPhone, which is black with an orange rubber cover cover, was stolen.
The victim’s injuries were not serious and he did not go to hospital.
The offender who took the phone is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall and of medium build. He wore a light-grey hooded top and had very short, shaved hair.
Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the area at the time. They should ring Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 42 of 5 February. Alternatively, they can ring Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
