AN online auction is taking place to sell off around £200,000 of dance-related stock following the closure of a Lichfield outlet.

The Dancers Room closed in March after trading in the city for 15 years.

In a statement at the time the owner said the cost of living crisis and rising business costs had “finally taken their toll” and made it difficult for the business to work commerically.

Ballard Business Recovery in Lichfield was appointed voluntary liquidator and in turn appointed Kumar and Company to handle the sale of assets, which include shoes, clothing, bags and accessories.

Rajiv Kumar, managing director of Kumar and Company, said:

“There is an enormous range of dancewear, shoes and kit with a cost price evaluation of more than £55,000. They include well respected brand names such as Bloch, Grishko and Capezio.

“Some of the ballet pumps and dance shoes have retail price tags of between £100 and £150.

“The auction offers a major opportunity for other dancewear stores and suppliers to boost their stocks, as well the chance for dancers and parents of budding ballet stars to get kitted out at a budget price.”

Details of the auction can be found online.
