Three taken to hospital after crash on the A38 near Lichfield

Three people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the A38 near Lichfield.

The three-car accident happened at 2pm today (August 21) near Fradley.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said:

“The driver of one of the cars, a man in his forties, had neck and back pain and was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar before being taken to Royal Derby Hospital. His front seat passenger, also a man in his thirties, had back pain and a head injury and was taken to Queens Hospital in Burton.

“A woman in her fifties in the second vehicle had neck pain and minor whiplash. She was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and a neck collar and was taken to Queens Hospital in Burton.

“Another woman involved in the incident who was complaining of headaches, told ambulance crews she would make her own way to hospital.”
