Time is running out for people to find out about Lichfield’s spooky past.

There are three guided Gruesome and Ghostly tours left on the winter calendar – on January 28, February 3 and February 18.

The tours take in the Guildhall prison cells, the history of burning at the stake in the Market Square, as well as details of the ghosts sighted in Dam Street and The Close.

Councillor Ian Pritchard said: “These entertaining tours are a great way to find out more about the city’s macabre past.

“After these final tours, they won’t be back until next autumn, so don’t miss out on your chance to get spooked!”

The walks are rounded off with a visit to a local pub for a glass of mulled wine and a sausage roll.

Tours need to be booked in advance and cost £6.25 a ticket. To book, visit Tourist Information at St Mary’s in the Market Square or call 01543 256611.
