Passengers travelling between Lichfield and London will face faster journey times after a train operator unveiled an upgrade to its fleet.
London Midland’s rolling stock will now be able to run at 110mph, cutting trips to the capital from Lichfield Trent Valley by up to 33 minutes.
The upgrades will also be accompanied by ten new trains by 2014.
London Midland commercial director, Richard Brooks, said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to launch this improved service ahead of Christmas.
“The 33 minutes time saving from Lichfield Trent Valley makes it much easier for people to use us for a day trip to the capital.”
