Two men have been arrested after a police drugs raid in Lichfield.
The pair, both aged 23 – one from Lichfield and one from Bootle in Merseyside, were taken into custody for questioning and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
They were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis when Lichfield District Local Policing Team (LPT) officers entered the house shortly before 7am today (May 1). Cannabis vegetation and other drugs, believed to be ketamine, were recovered.
PC Simon Lawrence, from Lichfield District LPT, said: “This is the latest in a number of drug warrants we’ve executed in Lichfield and the surrounding areas in recent weeks.
“Through Operation Nemesis, Staffordshire Police’s ongoing crackdown on drugs, we’re determined to weed out suppliers and make our communities safer places to live.
“We’re continuing to encourage local people to ring us on 101 if they have any information about drugs. Alternatively, they can ring independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
