TALKS are taking place in a bid to end strike action at local schools.
Members of the National Education Union (NEU) at the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP) have walked out in protest at potential redundancies.
It has led to the closure or partial closure of a number of schools during the industrial action which continued today (20th January).
Further strikes are planned tomorrow and Thursday, but in a joint statement the NEU and ATLP said efforts were taking place to find a resolution.
They said:
“The trust and NEU have held constructive discussions this week and have agreed to continue engaging with an open and meaningful dialogue.
“Both parties are clear that this dispute must be resolved and are reflecting on the matters discussed.
“Further meetings have been scheduled as part of an ongoing process to explore next steps and work towards a resolution, in the best interests of staff, pupils and their families.”
Upcoming proposed strike days are:
- 21st January
- 22nd January
- 26th January
- 27th January
- 28th January
- 29th January
