The 1965 and 1966 Routemasters will run on Central Buses’ 66 route this Saturday (December 6).

Conductors will also be on board to recreate the heyday of bus travel.

Geoff Cross, managing director at Central Buses, said: “Our heritage Routemaster Buses have proven extremely popular since we purchased them and we are giving the people of Lichfield and Burntwood the chance to travel on a true British icon.

“It has been many years since the last conductor operated services operated within Staffordshire and I’m sure the conductors and traditional open platform will no doubt bring back many fond memories of public transport in years gone by.”

The 66 service runs from Lichfield Bus Station to Sankey’s Corner. For more information call Central Buses on 0121 356 3487 or visit www.centralbuses.com.
