Voters in Lichfield and Burntwood will go to the polls today to decide how they want the shape of the district council to be going forward.
No votes will take place in four wards where new councillors have already been confirmed due to a lack of candidates:
Bourne Vale
Brian Yeates (Cons)
Little Aston and Stonnall
Elizabeth Little (Cons)
Joseph Powell (Cons)
Longdon
Robert Strachan (Cons)
Whittington and Streethay
David Leytham (Cons)
Harry Warburton (Cons)
Alan White (Cons)
But in all other wards, representatives from across the political spectrum will be hoping that the count tomorrow (3rd May) will see them victorious.
While the mainstream parties will be standing across the district, candidates from UKIP will hope to take advantage of the delay to Brexit, while independent hopefuls are also aiming to create an alternative option before the new council meets for the first time on 21st May.
