People are being warned to be on their guard after an incident involving a bogus official near Lichfield.

A man called at the home of an elderly woman on Drayton Lane in Drayton Bassett at 10.40am this morning (August 6).

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: β€œHe claimed he worked for the Water Board and needed money for a burst pipe. The woman handed over cash and the man left the property.”

Anyone with any information, or who saw suspicious people in the area prior to the incident cancontact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 219 of August 6.”
