The story of The Three Musketeers will be told like never before at the Lichfield Festival today.
Barbershopera reinvent Alexandre Dumas’ much loved story with fourpart a cappella harmonies in the Garrick Studia at 8pm.
“This multi-award winning musical company has been the toast of the Edinburgh Fringe and a huge hit on Radio 4,” a spokesperson said.
Lichfield Cathedral’s Lady Chapel will be the perfect setting for a candlelit performance by harp player Hannah Stone at 9.45pm.
The Cathedral itself will be the home to a 7.30pm performance of Hear My Voice by the Lichfield Gospel Choir and more than 300 youngsters from schools and colleges across the region.
Vocal talents of a different kind will be on offer at the Lichfield Garrick at 8pm when The Swingle Singers perform.
Richard La Trobe-Bateman will be at the same venue at 10am to discuss the world of bridges and other structures, while ballet performer Deborah Bull will be discussing her book The Everyday Dancer.
Alister McGrath will be at the George Hotel at 2pm to talk about the life of CS Lewis, with organist Peter Holder performing at Lichfield Cathedral at 11am.
Two fun Wiggle Jiggle dance sessions will also be on offer at Wade Street Church at 11.30am and 9pm.
