A COUNCILLOR has welcomed the replacement of a Burntwood postbox after a previous one was unusable for a number of months.
The facility outside the Post Office at Sankey's Corner had been taped up.
But workers have now installed a replacement.
Cllr Darren Ennis, leader of Burntwood Town Council, said:
"Myself and other councillors have been chasing this up, so it’s great to finally see the replacement postbox.
"This one has space for parcels as well as letters, so we’ve had an upgrade too.
"Thanks to everyone who kept raising it and to the team installing it."
Among those to flag concerns about the lack of a postbox during the closure of the previous one was Cllr Steve Norman, Labour representative for Chase Terrace ward.

He told Lichfield Live that despite contacting Royal Mail about the postbox, he was still awaiting a formal reply to explain the delays.
Cllr Norman said:
"Ironically, they seem to be one of the worst organisations to communicate with – even by post."
