WHITTINGTON suffered an eight wicket defeat as they were sunk by Springvale.
The village side were sent in to bat by the visitors and saw opener Shazad Malik hit 79 from 110 balls as they made 201 before being bowled out.
Springvale were in ruthless form with the bat, however as Waqar Ahmad, Hamza Ahmed and Zayan Kayani all made half-centuries as they passed the target for the loss of just two wickets.
Shamimur Rahman and Matt Griffiths claimed the two wickets with the ball for Whittington.
