Whittington Vets progressed to the quarter final of the Chairman’s Cup with a solid performance against North Warwick Vets.
Paul Brampton opened the scoring with a ferocious shot after good wing play from Simon Burchill.
Nick Colley doubled the advantage with a fine individual goal, before first half substitute Phil Joyce made an immediate impact, producing a bullet header from a Neil Russell corner.
North Warwick piled on the pressure in the second half and deservedly pulled a goal back, but the Whittington defence stood firm for the rest of the game.
Elsewhere, Whittington Vets A went down 4–3 to Blackwood Old Boys.
