Whittington overcame local rivals Bolehall in a tight encounter.
A long throw from Neil Russell split the Bolehall defence early in the game, resulting in Phil Joyce latching onto the ball and producing a rasping shot which the goalkeeper could only parry into the path of Steve Pierce who calmy slotted home from a narrow angle.
Whittington extended their lead in the second half after Simon Burchell scored with a long range effort.
Bolehall deservedly pulled a goal back with 10 minutes to go through Steven Price and had chances to equalise but Whittington hung on for victory.
The Vets finish their season on May 6 when they take on Folly Lane Strollers in the final of the Chairman’s Cup Final at Boldmere St Michaels FC. Kick-off is at 7.15pm.
