Work has started on new lifts at Lichfield Trent Valley station.

The split-level design means that two of the platforms are currently only accessible by stairs.
But lifts are now being installed to make the station accessible to all.
Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant said: “The diggers have moved in to construct two lifts at both the northbound and the southbound platforms up to the raised cross-city platform which will give disabled access to all three platforms.
“This long overdue work should be ready, subject to weather, by June this year.
“Next, I want to see a ramp installed so that disabled people or those with baby buggies and heavy luggage can access the platforms from the new car park.”
