Work clubs will not be axed as part of a bid by Lichfield District Council to save £1.7million.
The Fit for the Future review is examining ways to plug the funding gap in its finances.
A role within strategic partnerships is one of those which will be examined by the council’s overview and scrutiny committee on Thursday (June 20).
However, with part of the post being involved in the management of work clubs, there had been fears for the future of them.
But an internal review has recommended retaining £15,000 of the projected £37,000 savings to ensure the clubs can continue.
The work clubs have been attended 1,958 times since they were launched in March 2011, with 93 people helped back into work, 24 into volunteering and 177 into training in the last financial year.
