Work is finally set to start on the installation of lifts at Lichfield Trent Valley station.

The long-awaited project will mean all platforms are fully accessible.
The work is expected to begin in the coming weeks with the lifts up and working at the start of 2019.
Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant was given the update in the House of Commons after asking a question on the issue to Trains Minister Nusrat Ghani.
“Work will finally begin on the construction of two lifts at Lichfield Trent Valley station for disabled and other passengers at the end of next month and will be ready in the spring of next year,” Mr Fabricant said.
““I have been campaigning for this for some years and the Department for Transport have just confirmed these dates to me in a Parliamentary Answer.
“I wanted to keep up the pressure and this is excellent news.”
