LOCAL businesses are being given support to kickstart growth over the coming year.

The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub is collaborating with Peter the Speaker – the entrepreneur who landed funding from BBC’s Dragon’s Den – to provide four workshops for companies.

Peter Bayley-Hill secured £30,000 from Deborah Meaden in the 2018 series of the BBC show for his innovative pet products and went on to launch a career as an inspirational speaker and business leader.

The four interactive workshops will offer entrepreneurs in Staffordshire the chance to take part in engaging and inspiring sessions that build knowledge, skills and confidence.

Each session will focus on key business skills, with group activities designed to embed learning and build confidence in putting new skills into practice.

Rachel Wood, Growth Hub manager, said:

“Having previously collaborated with Peter, we are delighted to welcome him back to Staffordshire and offer businesses in the county the opportunity to learn from his wide-ranging knowledge and unique insights.

“The sessions are fully funded and we’re encouraging businesses to express an interest now and lay the foundations for a fantastic start to the new year.”

Entrepreneurs can sign up for one or all of the workshops, which start on 27th January with delegates delving into the customer mindset in relation to purchasing.

On 10th February, Peter’s session will focus on the four simple steps needed to ensure messaging is credible, professional and flows, before a 24th February event examines methods behind pricing.

The final workshop on 3rd March looks at how to enhance selling skills.
