The Staffordshire Regiment Musuem is set to rally the troops for its annual World War One Weekend.
Taking place on Saturday and Sunday (September 20 and 21), this year’s event will also form part of the county’s commemorations of the outbreak of the Great War.
On each day, members of the Museum will don period uniform to give guided tours of the 500ft trench system.
A spokesperson said: “Visitors can walk through the trench, look over the firing step, explore an officer’s dug out and venture into a tunnel.
“While in the trenches, people will also be able to chat to both British Tommies and German soldiers, and experience the crack of rifle-fire up close.”
The weekend will also see re-enactors across the weekend, with opening times from 10am to 4pm on both days. Entry is £6 for adults, £4 for children under 16, senior citizens and full-time students, or £18 for a family ticket that admits two adults and up to three children.
