Plan for new homes on Burntwood pub site are rejected

Plans to build five homes in Burntwood have been rejected.

Developers had wanted to put five detached houses where The Greyhound pub used to stand on Boney Hay Road.

A loss of trees and a “cramped” development were cited as reasons for the refusal by Lichfield District Council.

The decision notice said: “The proposed scheme would constitute over intensive development of the site resulting in a cramped and awkward relationship within the proposed development.

“The application fails to demonstrate that the proposal would not result in the unacceptable loss of or damage to trees and hedges which would further erode the character and distinctiveness of the surrounding area.”

Full details of the rejected proposals can be seen on the Lichfield District Council planning website.
