A LICHFIELD auctioneer is stepping up his preparation ahead of the London Marathon.
Richard Winterton will join thousands of runners taking on the gruelling 26.2-mile course on 26th April.
He will complete the run to raise funds for two organisations close to his heart – We Love Lichfield and Parkinson’s UK.
Richard said the support from those around him had helped him get through a tough training schedule ahead of the big race:
“After recently turning 60, I wanted to do something special.
“Training for the London Marathon has been every bit the challenge I expected and much more, but the knowledge that I’m running for two such important causes has kept me motivated to give it everything I can.
“I’ve also been bowled over by the strength of people’s generosity as well as their encouragement.
“Every donation will make a real difference and is hugely appreciated and I want to say a massive thank you to everyone for their support.”
