A woman from Barton-under-Needwood has been honoured for her volunteering efforts.

Sally McMahon received the Charity Volunteer of the Year Award from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

She has worked with the lifesaving organisation for four years, giving talks and attending presentations to highlight the work of the air ambulance.

The Recognition Awards also saw the M6 Toll handed the Social Responsibility Award for almost two decades of support for the charity across various initiatives.

Hanna Sebright, chief executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said:

“We are fortunate to receive support from the communities we serve across Staffordshire.

“They’re all deserving winners and it has been a pleasure to recognise them and show just how grateful we are for their dedication and determination in raising the profile of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity across the region.”
