NEW padel courts in Lichfield have begun serving up fun for local players.
The floodlit facility in Beacon Park opened its doors today (30th July).
Representatives from Lichfield District Council and local padel enthusiasts helped cut the ribbon on the three courts.
Cllr Andy Smith, cabinet member for leisure and major projects, said:
"We are delighted to open these fantastic new courts in Beacon Park.
"Padel is a great sport which has boomed in popularity in recent years and we have already had a great deal of interest from local people.
"The courts are Lichfield District Council’s latest investment in Beacon Park, creating another opportunity for people of all ages to get active."
Owned by the council and managed by Active Lichfield District, the courts are open seven days a week and are available to book on a pay-as-you-go basis via the Playtomic app.
Sessions are 60 minutes with access via a digital entry code. The courts cost £16 an hour off-peak or £20 an hour during peak periods.
