A PROJECT aiming to take solar panels on Lichfield Leisure Centre into local ownership has raised more than £160,000 of funding.
Staffordshire Community Energy launched a share offer linked to the Stychbrook Park facility.
The 395 solar panels saw community investors put forward £132,200, which was topped up by a further £27,800 from a Community Booster Fund.
The organisation said the response to the share offer demonstrated the strength of local support for community-owned renewable energy projects.
Neil O’Brien, chair of Staffordshire Community Energy, said:
