CAMPAIGNERS are urging residents to show their opposition to a proposed housing development in Burntwood when councillors meet to decide whether to approve it or not.
The scheme is proposing 250 new homes on land off Coulter Lane.
Members of Lichfield District Council's planning committee will meet to discuss the plans on 20th July.
Burntwood Action Group is now calling on people opposed to the scheme to "pack the council house".
A spokesperson said:
"The official notice explicitly dictates that a 'limited number of seats are available in the council chamber and will be allocated strictly on a first come, first served basis' – because of these bureaucratic restrictions, we need a massive, coordinated physical presence to arrive around 5.15 pm.
"Even if you cannot secure a seat inside the chamber, filling the building and corridors ensures the planning committee is forced to physically confront the community they are accountable to before casting their votes.
"We must provide a living, breathing manifestation of Bunrtwood we have legally cemented into the administrative record."
