THE chair of governors at a local school has praised staff after it was rated ‘good’ by inspectors.

Chasetown Community School received the grading across all areas after the Ofsted visit.

The inspection team highlighted the “highly personalised care” provided for pupils at the school.

Chair of governors, Cllr Steve Norman, said:

“I was pleased for the staff that we had the result before the summer break.

“They do a fantastic job for our pupils who have a range of very difficult and very challenging obstacles to get past to progress their education.

“Our headteacher Dr Linda James said that she felt that this was the most positive inspection experience to date in terms of engagement with the inspectors and alignment of understanding, even describing an Ofsted inspection – for the first time in my recollection – as an enjoyable and constructive experience.”
