Chasetown FC manager Charlie Blakemore says it’s “great” to have former coach Kevin Thompson back at the club.

Thompson – who has enjoyed previous spells at the The Scholars Ground both on and off the field – is back in the dugout alongside Blakemore, assistant Andy Cox, head coach Andy Turner and goalkeeping expert John Birt.

And the Chasetown boss believes his return will be beneficial for both parties as Thompson works towards his coaching badges.

He told the club’s website:

“Kevin knows what we are all about. He is completing his UEFA B coaching qualification this season and he has also played full time football for Telford United in the old Conference league.

“He is keen to develop as a coach and it is great to have him back at the club.”
