
A Chasetown school is celebrating after its students achieved record GCSE results.
And year 11 pupil Sophie Cummins achieved the perfect results as Chasetown Specialist Sports College saw 97 per cent of students gaining give A* to C grades, with 64 per cent of pupils gaining five A* to C grades including English and Maths.
Joseph Henson, Samantha Burns, Amy Jukes and Emma Wicklen were also celbrating after getting all A and A* results.
Headteacher Bernice Astling said:
“For the second year running, Chasetown students have gained brilliant examination results. Our students and staff worked incredibly hard in preparation for these results which are very well-deserved.
“We are delighted to hear that we have improved even further on our previous high levels of academic achievement.”
Other students who excelled with all A8, A and B grades at the school were James Athersmith, Chelsea Atkins, Thomas Burns, Oliver Jones, Scott Minnis, Daniel Newbury, Sam Pheasant, Laura Rooney, Jessica Russell, Oliver Sharma and Jamie Thorpe.
