A COLLECTION of historic vehicles is expected to rev up bidders when they go up for sale with a Lichfield auctioneer.

It includes a 1956 ex-military Land Rover, iconic sports cars and motorbikes.

They will be sold by Richard Winterton Auctioneers on 27th July.

The 88-inch Series One Land Rover entered service with the Durham Light Infantry in 1956 and was decommissioned and registered for domestic road use in 1966.

Ever since then, it has been meticulously maintained by the seller and used on a weekly basis.

Another highlight of the auction is a restored 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint FHC in red, gold and white.

The same seller is also offering a 1964 Austin-Healey ‘Frogeye’ assembly restoration project in need of completion, including chassis, body panels, engine, gearbox and other parts.

Other vehicles included in the sale are a restored 1974 Innocenti Mini Cooper, a 1967 MG B Roadster convertible sports car, a 1955 BSA Golden Flash 650cc ready for restoration, a 1974 Honda CB360 360cc for restoration, and a road-ready 1966 Royal Enfield Turbo Twin 250cc and a 1938 Velocette GTP 250cc motorbikes.

The catalogue can be viewed on the Richard Winterton Auctioneers website.
