A Lichfield shop will take a break in the name of charity to enjoy tea and cake.

The Sewing Shop, on Tamworth Street, will be raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care at the event on Friday (July 5).

Staff are also selling raffle tickets with prizes including a delicious ‘patchwork’ cake, jewellery, goodie bags, a patchwork quilt and cup cakes.

“We will also be running a ‘make and take’ session,” a spokesperson added. “For a minimum donation of £5 you can make your own pincushion in a china cup.

“The fun begins at 10am and lasts all day – or until the cake runs out!”

Tickets for the raffle are £1. For more information visit The Sewing Shop’s Facebook page.
