Lichfield theatre-goers will get an insight into life inside the Houses of Parliament when politician Diane Abbott visits the Garrick theatre.
The current Shadow Minister for Public Health will be talking about her life in politics on March 12.
In 1987 Diane Abbott made history by becoming the first black woman ever elected to Parliament. She has since built a distinguished career as a politician, broadcaster and commentator.
In June 2010, she made the ballot for the Labour leadership contest and took part in the summer long campaign to elect the next Labour leader and she came third in the vote.
A spokesperson said:
“Diane will talk about her life in politics and open the floor to questions from the audience about all aspects of her public life.”
