TWO building companies have helped children at a local school enjoy a teddy bears' picnic.

Barrat and David Wilson Homes gifted Rocklands School 35 cuddly toys, cupcakes and picnic blankets.

It allowed the youngsters to join the celebrations for National Teddy Bears Picnic Day on Friday 10th July.

Helen Blogg, a teacher at Rocklands School, said:

"Our pupils had a wonderful time with their new teddy bears.

"Events like this create meaningful opportunities for social interaction, communication and shared experiences, which are so important for our pupils.

"We are incredibly grateful to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for their kindness and ongoing support of our school community."

The event was organised with the school following a £1,500 donation from The Barratt Redrow Foundation to improve its forest school area.

Helen Lewis, managing director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said:

"We are proud to continue to nourish our partnership with the Rocklands School – it was lovely to see that the teddy bears were well received."
