THE finishing line is in sight for a Lichfield man who is running 52 marathons in as many weeks to raise money for charity.
Chris Caddy has so far completed 43 of the distances in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity – and has already raised over £2,200.
The 34-year-old began the challenge last year after deciding he wanted to support the charity and inspire his seven-year-old daughter Mia.
The keen runner has taken on routes around Lichfield, as well as competing in official events in Manchester, Leeds, Loch Ness, Paris and Barcelona.
Chris said:
“Some of my marathons so far have been tougher than others, but overall it’s been an enjoyable journey.
“A particular favourite was on New Year’s Eve when I ran at midnight, amongst all the fireworks.
“Thankfully, Mia has never needed Birmingham Children’s Hospital, but I know lots of children who have and we’re just so lucky to have such a fantastic facility on our doorstep in case we ever do.
“I’m so grateful to everyone who has donated so far to help support the incredible work that goes on at the hospital.”
Chris is hoping to complete the final few marathons with a finish in Beacon Park in front of friends and family.

“One marathon is no mean feat, but Chris is so close to completing 52 – a whole year’s worth.
“We’re so grateful for Chris’ continuing commitment and determination in this gargantuan challenge. He’s already raised a phenomenal amount, which will go on to help us continue supporting our brave patients and families.”
