A NEW community breakfast initiative is opening in Burntwood.

Rise and Shine launches on 4th August in The Upper Room at Beacon Community Church on Bridge Cross Road.

It will see families and individuals able to enjoy cereal, toast, crumpets, bagels, fruit juice, tea and coffee from 8am to 10am on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school holidays.

The initiative is being delivered in partnership with Cannock and District Foodbank.

A spokesperson said:

"The school holidays can place extra pressure on household budgets, and we want Rise and Shine to be a simple, welcoming way for people to begin the day.

"There is no need to book – everyone is welcome to come along, enjoy breakfast and spend time with the community."
