Katie Scarbrough’s fight to beat the disease touched thousands of readers as she documented her journey on a blog.

The Fradley mum-of-two also launched a charity appeal in March, with a series of events and donations bidding to top the £15,000 mark.

A post on the fundraising page after her death said: “Your bravery has touched us all.”

Her friends are also determined to keep battling to achieve Katie’s dream of raising money for cancer charities.

“Katie was so proud and so overwhelmed by every single donation that has been given,” they wrote.

“She asked that Team Katie keep pushing forward with fundraising in her name, so that hopefully in the future no other families have to endure the torment and grief that the Scarbrough family are going through.”

People can donate to Team Katie online.
