A Burntwood school is celebrating after having its work to support students with dyslexia recognised.
Fulfen Primary School has been awarded Enhanced Dyslexia Status after pupils were interviewed about its approach.
A report said that the school had an “inclusive nature” and that children did not feel isolated because of their difficulties.
Fulfen is one of just ten schools in Staffordshire to receive the award. Headteacher Jane Davies said the work by assistant head Carly Tranter as the school’s inclusion leader was paying off.
“We are incredibly proud of all of our staff who help to promote and ensure that our pupils feel confident to succeed,” she said.
“Here at Fulfen, we feel developing the whole child is important and this was echoed in the report, which said that social, emotional and health needs were of high importance in the school.”
