Gold medal success at World Championships for Burntwood's Naomi Powis

NAOMI Powis claimed gold in the WKU World Championships.

The Burntwood fighter competed across four rounds in the K1 -50kg competition in Berlin.

She beat Italian Teresa Bertellini in the opening exchange before achieving the same result against Marlene Wabnitz.

Powis then took on Welsh competitor Charley Davies, taking the victory with a submission.

The gold medal match was against Belgium's Parisa Faraji, with the Burntwood fighter taking the win.
