RESIDENTS in Hammerwich hosted a party to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
The event at Hammerwich Community Hall followed a church service.
A spokesperson said:
“Members wore the traditional red, white, and blue colours and homemade cakes were enjoyed by all.
“One lady, who could remember the day in 1945, recalled the relief that you were not going to be bombed in the night.”
The event was supported by Hammerwich Parish Council.
