Historical cookery is taking centre stage in Lichfield once more.

Professor Rotherham and city chef Simon Smith are back with another of their Simmering Through The Ages shows.

In their latest show the duo travel back to the days of the 18th and 19th centuries on a culinary journey across India and experience the tastes of the Raj.

This light-hearted look back at India’s culinary heritage will include wholesome dishes from the ancient past, such as Kitcharee, lhobia and Bombay Alloo.

At the end of the show recipe cards will be provided for visitors to take away and there will also be the chance to purchase their historical cookbook Simmering Through The Ages for £14.99.

Echoes of the Raj is at the Lichfield Garrick on August 27 at 12 noon. Tickets cost £8.50 and can be booked from www.lichfieldgarrick.com or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
