A new all-weather sports pitch in Burntwood has been given its official opening.

England hockey star Susie Gilbert joined students and representatives from the school and local organisations to cut the ribbon on the new facility at Chasetown Specialist Sports College.

Headteacher Bernice Astling said:

“We are delighted with our new all-weather pitch which is a fantastic addition to our sport facilities.  I know that the students have really enjoyed using the pitch and will continue to use the pitch for lessons and fixtures against other schools.

“We are also proud to be able to open the pitch to bookings by local clubs and teams.”
