Land in Burntwood set to ease parking problems

Published:

Land in Burntwood is set to be converted into car parking spaces.

Residents on Baker Street will hope the change can ease congestion after what developers said were “sustained complaints regarding the lack of suitable parking”.

People living on the street had written letters of support for the planning application, saying that vehicles had been damaged in the past.

“We have suffered broken wing mirrors, dents and scratches either from other cars or passers-by for whom our cars very often seem to be in the way,” one resident said.

“As members of the local community we are over the moon about the proposal as not only would it improve road safety, but also the quality of our everyday lives.”

Full details of the plan, along with the decision notice, can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
