Last chance for Lichfield and Burntwood parents to make school choices

Published:

Parents in Lichfield and Burntwood have just a few days to apply for secondary school places for their children.

More than 65 per cent of expected applications have already been received, but those who have not yet made their choices have only until Sunday (October 31) to do so.

County Councillor Liz Staples, Staffordshire County Council Cabinet Member for Schools, said:

“Most parents have already submitted their application, but we’re keen to remind them that the deadline is approaching. Getting their preferred school is important to parents and the County Council strives to meet people’s requirements whenever possible.

“We do need all applications in by October 31, as a lot of work goes into organising school places. We are pleased that so many people are applying online, as this is something we wholeheartedly encourage in the interests of speed and efficiency.”

Anyone who has yet to apply for a secondary school place for their child in September 2011 can visit the website to make an online application or call the School Admissions & Transport Service on 01785 278593 and make a telephone application.
