The Lichfield branch of The Co-operative Bank is set to close in June.
The Market Street site was previously the home of the Britannia Building Society before that company was taken over.
But the deal in 2009 led to plans for 50 branches to be closed just a few years later, with the axe now falling on its operation in Lichfield.
Visitors to The Co-operative Bank’s website are now informed that the store will be closing.
Staff, who did not want to be named, confirmed to Lichfield Live that discussions were underway to move them to nearby branches once the closure happens.
