The owner of a Lichfield business has welcomed news that her business can reopen after the coronavirus crisis following a rethink by the Government.
Registered nurse Sally Wagstaff had criticised the decision not to allow her Xodos Aesthetics clinic in Kings Bromley to welcome customers again.
The Government had originally put the business in the same category as spas and beauty salons – a move she branded “ill-advised, illogical and bizarre”.
But a rethink of the decision has led to confirmation that she can begin seeing clients for treatments again.
“Following the Government’s short-sighted legislation last week, preventing qualified medical professionals from practicing, they’ve now made an amendment stating ‘the updated legislation does not apply to medical aesthetics performed by regulated clinicians following a medical model’.
“As a registered nurse, who’s always followed a medical model, I’m delighted to be able to announce that I will be re-opening with immediate effect.”

The 46-year-old said that despite the boost for her own business, there would still be others left in limbo.
“My heart goes out to my colleagues in the beauty industry who offer similar professional treatments, but are not registered clinicians – but I’m hoping they will not be far behind us.
“All policies and procedures will be strictly followed to ensure the utmost safety of anyone coming into the clinic, but I’m just so relieved to be able to start helping my clients again.”
