Veteran Labour politician Tony Benn is returning to the Lichfield Garrick to share his frank views.
As well as discussing his life in the House of Commons, the former Cabinet Minister will also be giving his views on the recent changes in the Labour party.

He said:
“I think people are fed up with sound bites, spin, sensation and scandal from politicians. What people really want is a chance to discuss issues that affect all our lives, the things that really matter, and that we have a discussion in a sensible uninterrupted and civilised manner.”
As Britain’s longest-serving Labour MP, Tony has over 50 years experience of people, politics and power.
He added:
“A theatre is an excellent venue for this kind of intimate evening and is it is where political debate is really happening today. I get quite excited by this opportunity of bringing politics back to the people, which is probably not a good thing for a man of my age!”
An Evening with Tony Benn will be at the Lichfield Garrick on June 21 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15.50, and can be booked from www.lichfieldgarrick.com or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
