Staff and pupils at a Lichfield school are celebrating after receiving a glowing Ofsted report, hailing the overall quality of education as “outstanding”.
Inspector Judith Charlesworth praised Maple Hayes Dyslexia School’s unique approach, describing both the curriculum and the school’s teaching as excellent.
The school received outstanding judgements in the four main categories, including how well pupils make progress in their learning and was considered good in the remaining three areas of behaviour, health and safety and the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of its pupils.
Headteacher Dr Daryl Brown said: “We are very pleased that the hard work of all our staff and pupils has been recognised by inspectors in our latest Ofsted visit.
“It really demonstrates the outstanding education Maple Hayes offers children with dyslexia. The report highlighted the considerable achievements of our pupils during their time at the school and shows that our alternative approach to teaching is something that transforms the lives of young people struggling to overcome difficulties with literacy.
“We’re immensely proud to offer such a high quality of education and are grateful to all of our pupils for making the school a fantastic and incredibly rewarding place to teach.”
