A Lichfield man has launched the country’s first nationwide same-day mobile phone repair business.

Founder Keir McConomy says iMend.com will have technicians on stand-by ready to visit customers at home to mend iPhones, iPads and Samsung handsets.
The company employs 15 staff at its Burntwood headquarters with more than 80 mobile technicians based around the country.
Keir – who has previously developed a multi-million pound mobile phone recycling business – says he believes the new project has identified a gap in the market. “The current options available for phone repair often lead to a fair bit of inconvenience and involve going out to a shop to repair, leaving your phone behind with worries about data security,” he said. “Trust, convenience and speed are all very important to customers. “We commonly expect a call out service for things like tyres, windscreens and IT services, so why not smartphones?”The company has already been called out to a number of cracked screens, while Keir says technicians also regularly have to deal with broken buttons and water damage.
